ENABLING ACCESSIBILITY FUND – YOUTH INNOVATION COMPONENT | EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CANADA (ESDC):
Value: up to $10,000.
Description:
The Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) is looking for dynamic youth who want to demonstrate leadership and a commitment to their communities. Through this process, youth volunteer their time to build a more accessible Canada.
Eligibility:
The following organizations are eligible to apply for EAF Youth Innovation Component funding:
- not-for-profit organizations (including social enterprises)
- businesses (maximum 99 full-time equivalent employees)
- Indigenous organizations
- municipal governments, and
- territorial governments
We want you and what you have to offer, if you are:
- between 15 and 30 years of age
- determined to make a difference in your community
- you want to develop valuable skills and gain key experience, and
- authorized to work legally in Canada
Deadline: The application period to submit your interest in becoming a Youth Accessibility Leader is from June 3, 2022, and October 17, 2022.

ENABLING ACCESSIBILITY FUND – EARLY LEARNING AND CHILD CARE (ELCC) | EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CANADA (ESDC):
Value: ESDC will fund 100% of eligible project costs up to $70,000.
Description:
The Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) small projects component of the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) aims to improve accessibility and safety in regulated and/or licensed ELCC centres. This will help support children with disabilities, parents/guardians with disabilities and/or employees with disabilities. The goal is to ensure that all Canadian families have access to high-quality, affordable and inclusive early learning and child care.
Eligibility:
To receive funding your organization must be a regulated and/or licensed child care organization. Funding is limited to:
- not-for-profit child care organizations
- child care organizations run by municipalities
- Indigenous child care organizations
- ESDC recognizes that not all Indigenous ELCC sites are issued a registration or licensing number. Please be advised that such Indigenous child care organizations are still eligible to apply under the ELCC small projects component of the EAF Call for Proposals. For all Indigenous ELCC sites, including those on reserve, operating in Inuit communities, or operated by Self-Governing First Nations or Modern Treaty Holders, that do not have a registration or licensing number, please include a statement in Q33 stating that there is no applicable number
- for-profit child care organizations (provided that the nature and intent of the activity is non-commercial, not intended to generate profit, and supports program priorities and objectives); and
- organizations that operate in public schools (primary and secondary) or on public school property. If this is the case, the ELCC will be required to demonstrate that the proposed project activity is exclusively for the use of the child care centre/program
Eligible Costs:
Eligible organizations can only submit 1 application to this CFP and can apply for up to $70,000 for:
- new construction, renovation and/or retrofit activities that will increase accessibility and expand access to ELCC centres in Canadian communities; and/or
- accessible information and communication technologies

ENABLING ACCESSIBILITY FUND – MID-SIZED PROJECTS | EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CANADA (ESDC):
Value: minimum of $350,000 and a maximum of $1,000,000 (per project).
Description:
This program will fund projects that make communities and workplaces more accessible for persons with disabilities.
The Enabling Accessibility Fund will help creates more opportunities for persons with disabilities to:
- take part in community activities, programs and services
- access employment
Eligibility:
Your organization must be one of the following:
- not-for-profit organization
- residential housing specific to persons with disabilities as long as the projects are located in common spaces used by more than 1 person
- for-profit organization provided that the nature and intent of the activity is non-commercial and does not generate profit
- municipal government
- Indigenous organization who represent and serve those who self-identify as:
- First Nations
- Inuit
- Métis Nation
- non-affiliated
- territorial government
Eligible Projects:
This funding supports projects that address the following objectives:
- improve accessibility and safety for persons with disabilities in Canadian communities and workplaces, and
- increase access to programs, services or employment opportunities that focus on a holistic approach in addressing the social or labour market integration needs of persons with disabilities
Deadline: Between June 4, 2021 to July 29, 2021.

ENABLING ACCESSIBILITY FUND – FUNDING FOR SMALL PROJECTS COMPONENT | EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CANADA (ESDC):
Value: up to $100,000.
Description:
The Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) provides funding for projects that make communities and workplaces more accessible for persons with disabilities. EAF creates more opportunities for persons with disabilities to:
- take part in community activities, programs and services
- access employment
Eligibility:
To receive funding, your organization must be a:
- not-for-profit (an organization that does not make money for itself)
- business (with a maximum of 99 full-time equivalent employees)
- small municipality (with population under 125,000 as per the 2016 Census data)
- Indigenous organization (including band council, tribal council and self-governing organization)
- territorial government
Eligible Expenses:
Eligible organizations can apply for up to $100,000 for:
- small construction, renovation or retrofit of existing spaces to improve accessibility
- accessible information and communication technologies

DISABILITY RELATED EMPLOYMENT SUPPORTS (DRES) | ALBERTA HUMAN SERVICES:
Value: Varies
Description:
Disability Related Employment Supports (DRES) funding is available to pay for supports that help Albertans overcome barriers to education or employment caused by a disability. DRES is offered in three categories:
- Job Search Supports: Job search supports assist Albertans with disabilities aged 16 and older seek employment. The supports may include a sign language interpreter so that an individual with a hearing impairment can attend a job interview
- Workplace Supports: Workplace supports assist Albertans with disabilities aged 16 and older make a successful transition into the workplace, maintain employment, and enable their full participation in the workforce. The supports may include a job coach, worksite modification or assistive technology
- Educational Supports: Education supports assist learners with disabilities who are out of the kindergarten to grade 12 school system, prepare for employment through post-secondary educ ation, basic skill training, academic upgrading or labour market programs. The supports may include sign language interpreters, tutors, note takers, and assistive technology such as software programs specific to the disability
Eligibility:
To be eligible for DRES supports and/or services an individual must:
- have a diagnosed and documented permanent or chronic disability that creates a barrier to education, training and/or employment
- be an Alberta resident
- be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- be legally entitled to work and/or train in Canada
- intend to work
- be eligible for DRES through an Employability Assessment and have a Service Plan

OPPORTUNITIES FUND FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES – NATIONAL OR REGIONAL COMPONENT | EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CANADA (ESDC):
Value: Up to $15,000,000 for a project that is up to 3 years (36 consecutive months).
Description:
The Opportunities Fund (OF) program helps persons with disabilities increase their economic participation and independence by:
- preparing for, finding, and keep good jobs or becoming self employed, or
- advancing in their careers or taking on new or greater responsibilities
Eligibility:
Your organization must be 1 of the following types:
- Not-for-profit organizations
- For-profit organizations (if nature and intent of the activity in its proposal is non commercial, not intended to generate profit, and supports program priorities and objectives)
- Municipal governments
- Educational Institutions (including post-secondary institutions), school boards
- Indigenous organizations (including band councils, tribal councils and self-government entities), or
- Provincial and territorial governments, institutions, agencies and Crown Corporations with approval from the Minister
Note for organizations established in Quebec:
Quebec organizations may apply for funding through the National Component. The Regional Component is not open to Quebec organizations given that the program’s regional funds are administered under the Canada-Quebec Agreement in support of persons with disabilities in Quebec as part of the Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
Eligible Expenses:
The OF program funds a wide range of supports and services, including:
- Pre-employment and employability supports
- Job search supports
- Work experience
- Self-employment assistance
- Wage subsidies
- Skills development
- Career advancement supports, and
- Employer engagement and awareness initiatives to encourage employers to hire and retain persons with disabilities and make their workplaces more inclusive and accessible

REGISTERED DISABILITY SAVINGS PLAN | EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CANADA (ESDC):
Value: Canada Disability Savings Grant: Maximum $3,500 per year, with a limit of $70,000 over your lifetime; Canada Disability Savings Bond: maximum yearly bond amount is $1,000 until you reach the limit of $20,000.
Description:
When you open a Registered Disability Savings Plan, you can apply for a Canada Disability Savings Grant and Bond:
- The Canada Disability Savings Grant is a matching grant that is paid up until December 31 of the year you turn 49. That means that, if you contribute to your plan, the government will also put money into your plan. The maximum yearly grant amount is $3,500, with a limit of $70,000 over your lifetime.
- The Canada Disability Savings Bond is money the government contributes to the RDSPs of low- and modest-income individuals. You do not need to make any contributions to your plan to receive the bond. The maximum yearly bond amount is $1,000 until you reach the limit of $20,000.
Eligibility:
- Apply for grants and bonds when opening a plan. The amount of grant or bond you receive depends on your family income and the amount you contribute.
- You can receive grants and bonds until December 31 of the year you turn 49.
- Are eligible for the Disability Tax Credit

PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES (PDD) | ALBERTA COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL SERVICES:
Description:
The Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program helps eligible adults plan, coordinate and access services to live as independently as they can in their community. The program is based on the Persons with Developmental Disabilities Services Act and Regulations.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the PDD program, you must:
- be 16 years or older to apply and 18 when PDD services start
- live in Alberta and receive PDD services here
- be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
To be eligible for PDD you must have a developmental disability from before you were 18. This means you may have had a disability from birth or one happened while you were growing up. Having a developmental disability means a person may need help to learn new things and assistance with day-to-day activities. A developmental disability is not the same as a physical disability, a health condition or a mental health disorder.

WORBE: Workplace opportunities: Removing barriers to equity
Value: Funding of up to a total of $3 million per year is available to distribute to eligible organizations. Eligible organizations can apply for up to $500,000 per year. Eligible projects must be completed within 36 months of the project’s start date. The maximum total funding that can be provided for a project is $1.5 million.

Workplace Opportunities: Removing Barriers to Equity (WORBE) is a grants and contributions program. WORBE is designed to support employers subject to the Employment Equity Act (the Act) in their efforts to improve designated group representation in areas of low representation through partnerships and industry-tailored strategies.
Through a competitive call for concepts process, WORBE will provide funding through grants or contributions to eligible recipients to develop tailored solutions to support the four (4) designated groups under the Act (women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of visible minorities).
Eligibility:
Your organization must be one (1) of the following types:
- federally regulated private-sector employers
- employers associations (unionized or non-unionized)
- non-governmental organizations
- not-for-profit organizations
- academic institutions
Eligible activities:
- engaging in effective partnership(s) to work with and support federally regulated private-sector employers through the creation of inclusive workplaces by identifying industry-specific barriers and solutions in order to improve the representation of designated groups in workplaces, occupational groups or sectors experiencing low representation
- enabling employers to take action by facilitating the creation of industry-specific strategies to address identified challenges
- increasing the capacity of employers to fulfil their obligations under the Act by leveraging the potential for industry to work together to develop targeted solutions

Entrepreneurs With Disabilities │ Prospect

Description:
This program provides entrepreneurs an array of workshops selection that align to their work plan. Clients will learn vital information and can immediately work on applying it to their business development plan.
You’ll engage with peers and the Business Advisor to reinforce your knowledge and build your entrepreneurial capacity. Workshops will be adapted to meet accessibility needs. All workshop content is tailored for entrepreneurs with disabilities.
Eligibility:
To check your eligibility, the applicant must first book an appointment with the Intake Coordinator or Business Advisor to determine your suitability for the program, the type of entrepreneur you are and an analysis of your strengths. A list of recommended courses will be provided and a custom work plan, including self-directed and directed activities, will be created for you.
